BREAKING NEWS: Palace Thrown Into Mourning As Nigerian Traditional Ruler And Monarch Dies

The Olowo of Owo in Ondo State, Oba Folagbade Olateru Olagbegi, CFR, is dead.

The monarch died last night at the age of 77.

The Olowo became the ruler of the ancient town of Owo 2003. He was installed by the late governor Olusegun Agagu.

He became Chancellor of the University of Benin in 2005 and later chancellor, University of Abuja.

Before his demise, he was the chancellor of the University of Jos, Plateau State and former chairman of the Ondo council of Obas.

Meanwhile, the palace is yet to issue a statement on his death.
