Data from the Fearless Female Founders programme shows where businesses are ready for capital, and where documentation stops them.

2,810 Women Applied. Nigeria’s Women-Led Pipeline Is Deep, and the Readiness Gap Is Measurable.

When Zuri Circle Network opened applications for the second Fearless Female Founders programme, 2,810 women applied, from Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Borno, Jigawa, Enugu, Rivers, Delta, Kwara and other states.

Each application passed through ZCN’s compliance gate, which tests three things: verified business registration, financial documentation and confirmed operations. 54.9% cleared the gate on first submission. 45.1% did not. The gate tests documentation and operations, not ideas.

Ninety-eight founders were formally selected. The programme concluded with a Demo Day at Vibranium Valley, Lagos, on 28 August, with 278 confirmed attendees.

“The baseline numbers show that ambition is not the deficit; institutional readiness is,” said Linda Obi, Founder and Executive Director of ZCN. “Capital does not flow to ideas; it flows to verified, documented structures. Our mandate is to build the compliance infrastructure that moves women-led businesses from informal operations to bankable assets.”

The 2nd Annual Refined Woman Conference takes place in Lagos on 19 December 2026. To register, write to operations [at] zuricirclenetwork [dot] com.
