Serial enttepreneur Ubah Elochukwu Targets Affordable Green Towns Across Nigeria by 2035
Real estate entrepreneur plans sustainable housing developments in Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan, Aba and Owerri, drawing on years of experience in building materials, construction and international trade
Nigerian entrepreneur and real estate developer, Ubah Stanley Elochukwu, has unveiled an ambitious plan to develop affordable, environmentally conscious residential communities across five Nigerian cities by 2035.
*Elochukwu, founder of UBASINACHI-BKK REAL ESTATE LIMITED, said his long-term vision is to develop affordable “green towns” in Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan, Aba and Owerri, combining quality housing with functional design, modern construction methods and environmentally responsible development.*
The vision builds on his growing involvement in Nigeria’s property sector. Over the past two years, Elochukwu says he has undertaken building projects in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, and Owerri, Imo State, gaining practical experience in property development, construction and the realities of Nigeria’s housing market.
His company is officially identified as UBASINACHI-BKK REAL ESTATE LIMITED on a taxpayer identification certificate issued on October 17, 2023.
For Elochukwu, however, real estate represents the culmination of years of experience acquired across several interconnected industries.
*Born on September 10, 1993, Elochukwu hails from Isu Local Government Area, Nnewim Duba Autonomous Community, Imo State. He was born into the family of Chief and Lolo Sixtus Uba, while his mother is Mrs Peace Uba (née Amadi).*
He attended Baptist High School, Owerri, completing his secondary education in 2013 before proceeding to Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, where he obtained his National Diploma in 2015.
Following his studies and a one-year industrial training programme, Elochukwu relocated to Lagos, a move that would significantly influence his entrepreneurial development.
In Lagos, he worked under the tutelage of his uncle, an established businessman involved in the importation of building materials and interior décor products. The experience exposed him to sourcing, procurement, customer relations, building products and other practical aspects of commerce.
It also brought him closer to the construction industry and strengthened an ambition he had nurtured to establish his own real estate business.
His business education subsequently assumed an international dimension. Elochukwu participated in seminars and workshops and travelled to several Asian countries, gaining broader exposure to international trade and different commercial environments.
His travels have taken him to countries including China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Laos. He later ventured into independent importation, sourcing products, including cosmetics, from Asian markets for the Nigerian market.
Those experiences, he says, broadened his understanding of international commerce while exposing him to different approaches to products, materials and design.
The eventual establishment of UBASINACHI-BKK REAL ESTATE LIMITED marked his transition towards pursuing real estate development as a major business interest.
Through the company, Elochukwu has become involved in land acquisition, building construction, property development and sales, while seeking to combine his understanding of building materials with his exposure to design and international sourcing.
His bigger ambition, however, extends beyond constructing and selling individual properties.
By 2035, Elochukwu hopes to progressively develop affordable green residential communities across selected Nigerian cities. The concept is intended to combine affordability with efficient land use, functional architecture, quality building materials and environmentally conscious development.
He believes his background in building materials, interior décor, international sourcing, construction and real estate provides a useful foundation for pursuing the goal.
The 2035 plan remains a long-term development vision and would require significant investment, land acquisition, regulatory approvals, infrastructure, professional partnerships and financing to achieve at scale. Elochukwu nevertheless sees the coming years as an opportunity to build the capacity and partnerships required to move the concept forward.
For him, lessons acquired from international travel should ultimately be adapted to Nigerian conditions rather than simply reproducing foreign development models.
Beyond business, Elochukwu is married and continues to balance family responsibilities with entrepreneurship and his expanding real estate interests.
His journey—from Imo State to Lagos, international trade and eventually property development—reflects a career built largely through practical experience and exposure.
As he looks towards 2035, Elochukwu’s objective is clear: to transform his knowledge of building materials, design, construction and international business into developments that address real housing needs.
If realised, his vision would see UBASINACHI-BKK REAL ESTATE LIMITED move beyond individual property projects towards developing organised, affordable and sustainable communities in Abuja, Owerri, Ibadan, Aba and Lagos.
