Agbor Honoured by Correctional Service for Inmates’ Rehabilitation Efforts

Top Nollywood actress and founder of Strength Beyond Walls Foundation, Queeneth Agbor, has received an Award of Appreciation from the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Zone A Headquarters, Lagos, in recognition of her contribution to the rehabilitation and welfare of inmates.

The award acknowledges Agbor’s sustained commitment to initiatives aimed at supporting inmates, promoting rehabilitation and preparing them for successful reintegration into society.

Agbor, who has used her foundation to champion hope, empowerment and rehabilitation within correctional facilities, described the recognition as an encouragement to deepen her efforts in supporting vulnerable individuals.

She said, “I am deeply grateful to the Nigerian Correctional Service, Zone A Headquarters, for this recognition. It means a lot to me because the work we do through Strength Beyond Walls Foundation is driven by the belief that every individual deserves hope, dignity and an opportunity to rebuild.”

According to her, the recognition would further strengthen her resolve to support programmes that enable inmates to acquire skills, rediscover their potential and prepare for life after incarceration.

“This award is not just about me; it is about everyone who believes in giving people a second chance. We will continue to support efforts that help inmates discover their potential, acquire useful skills and prepare for meaningful lives after incarceration,” she said.

She called for stronger collaboration between government agencies, non-governmental organisations and other stakeholders to improve correctional rehabilitation and reintegration programmes.

Agbor also thanked individuals and organisations supporting the foundation, stressing that sustainable transformation could only be achieved through collective effort.

“Our goal is to ensure that nobody feels forgotten simply because they are behind the walls of a correctional facility. There is always room for transformation, and we are committed to being part of that journey,” she stated.
