Somalens Introduces AI-Powered Gamified Health Experience to Help Users Build Better Everyday Wellness Habits
Somalens, a digital health and wellness application, has introduced a major product update designed to make everyday health management simpler, more engaging and easier to sustain.
The new AI-powered experience brings together a redesigned home screen, symptom check, medication reminders, daily health check-ins, personalised insights and gamification features, including health missions, streaks, levels and SOMA Coins.
The update is aimed at helping users develop healthier routines through small, consistent actions while gaining greater awareness of their everyday wellbeing.
For many people, maintaining healthy habits can be challenging. Busy schedules, forgotten routines and a lack of visible progress can make it difficult to remain consistent. Somalens seeks to address this challenge by transforming everyday wellness activities into a guided and rewarding digital experience.
At the centre of the update is a redesigned home experience that allows users to access key health and wellness features from one place. Users can complete daily check-ins covering areas such as mood, energy, pain and sleep, review personalised insights based on the information they provide, and receive guidance on possible next steps.
The platform has also introduced gamified health missions designed to encourage consistency through manageable activities rather than drastic lifestyle changes.
As users complete eligible activities, they can maintain health streaks, progress through different levels and earn SOMA Coins. The rewards system is designed to give users a visible sense of progress while encouraging continued participation in their wellness journey.
Joy Bachashe Samuel, Co-founder and Lead UX Designer at Somalens, said the update was developed to make digital health tools more relatable and motivating.
“Most people already know that their health deserves attention, but knowing what to do is not always enough to create a lasting habit. We wanted to design an experience that makes small health actions feel achievable and worth returning to. With the new Somalens update, users can check in with themselves, understand their patterns and see their consistency grow over time,” Samuel said.
She added that the use of gamification was intended to encourage engagement rather than trivialise health management.
“Gamification is not about making light of health. It is about using thoughtful design to help people remain engaged with positive routines. Every mission completed, streak maintained and insight reviewed can become a reminder that small actions matter.”
The redesigned experience reflects Somalens’ wider approach to digital wellness, which focuses on providing accessible tools that encourage people to become more aware of their everyday health.
Rather than waiting until a health concern becomes serious, the platform encourages users to pay closer attention to changes in how they feel and develop a more consistent relationship with their wellbeing.
Somalens, however, does not replace a doctor or provide a medical diagnosis. Its features are designed to support health awareness and everyday wellness management, while users are encouraged to consult qualified healthcare professionals when they experience symptoms, have health concerns or require medical advice.
The latest Somalens update is now available on iOS and Android. Existing users can update the application through their respective app stores, while new users can download the app and explore the redesigned experience.
With the latest launch, Somalens is seeking to make preventive and everyday health engagement more accessible, relatable and rewarding for users in Nigeria, across Africa and beyond.
